The French American Cultural Exchange Foundation- Thomas Jefferson Fund

Proceeds of CCAA’s “Make America ‘Magnifique’ Again” (#ccaamama) will go towards the FACE Thomas Jefferson Fund to help support bilateral research.

The Thomas Jefferson Fund will provide a unique framework to enable promising and innovative projects to reach their full potential and enrich French-American research collaborations. The Fund aims to encourage cutting-edge, multidisciplinary research projects of the highest quality and especially seeks to support emerging collaborations involving a team of younger researchers. The Thomas Jefferson Fund aims to foster forward-looking collaborative research in the fields of Humanities and Social Sciences, of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics and of Science for Society that addresses the most pressing global challenges.

The IPCC

IPCC stands for Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. It is a group of scientists charged by the United Nations (UN) Environment Program to assess global climate change. It has for its mission to summarize the current science behind climate change, and the potential impact climate change will have on the environment and people. The IPCC does not do any original research; instead it relies on the work of thousands of scientists.

The conclusions of the IPCC are scientifically conservative, putting more weight on findings supported by multiple lines of evidence rather than on the controversial leading edge of research.

Findings from the assessment reports are featured prominently during international climate negotiations, including those ahead of the 2015 Paris Climate Change Conference.
