Pike Block Building

 300 S. Salina St.

Syracuse 13202

Facilities: Commercial, Geothermal

Pike Block is a redevelopment of four historic buildings located at the corner of the 300 block (South Salina Street and East Fayette Street). The Pike Block project incorporated several energy saving methods including: storm water collection; open loop ground source heat pump that taps into Syracuse’s brine aquifer 85 feet below Salina Street; solar thermal system; energy efficient appliances and lighting; low flow plumbing fixtures; highly efficient HVAC systems.

At Explore Our Energy Future, a tour of the open loop ground source heat pump system tapped into Syracuse’s brine aquifer which runs below Salina St. will be given along side a presentation on how this system heats and cools approximately 30,000 sq. ft. of commercial tenant space.

See a geothermal heating and cooling system in action at the Pike Block.
