1398 Route 5 West, Chittenango, NY 13037
Facilities: Business, Solar, Geothermal, and Heat Pump Water Heater
The Chittenango Physical Therapy office, owned by Dan Kingsley, is a 2-year-old, 6,000 sq ft Net Zero building. Mr. Kingsley decided to go net Zero due to his growing concern about the quality of environment he is leaving his children and family to come. So, his building is entirely heated and cooled by a 10-Ton Closed Vertical Loop Geothermal system.
All of the electrical energy is supplied by 35 KW Solar Photovoltaic panels on adjustable poles in the back of the building.
Mr. Kinglsey also did not want to contribute to foreign wealth in the form of fossil fuels, so to avoid burning any, he elected not to connect to the town’s natural gas line. His highly efficient Heat Pump Water Heater produces hot water for domestic use by redirecting heat from the air in the basement. This, in turn, keeps the basement dry all year.
Given that the Return-on-investment (ROI) for solar is 6 years, and geothermal is 10 years, Mr. Kingsley looks forward to many many years of business operation with a clear conscience and diminished expenses. Come see how he did it!
